"GTA" fans are restlessly waiting for Rockstar Games to provide more details about "GTA 6's" release date; however, much to their dismay, the sixth edition of the action-adventure video game could be canceled.

Multiple sources suggest that Rockstar Games is currently focusing on "Grand Theft Auto 5." This seems acceptable considering the game's immense success, even 3 years after its release date back in 2013. Other reports claim that the colossal budget required to kickstart "GTA 6" development could be too much for the company to handle.

Rumors are rife that "GTA 6" will be available in VR (Virtual Reality) mode. This, coupled with next-gen graphics and features, will make the game unreasonably expensive to produce. Nevertheless, if the popularity and success of Rockstar's current franchise is anything to go by, expenses won't pose much of a problem.

"GTA 5" was produced with a budget of $265 million and the game title was able to bring in a whooping $800 million in just 24 hours from its release date. With the increasing hype around "GTA 6," developing the game at a big budget won't be a problem. Besides, the company will be able to make some profit from the game without trouble, NeuroGadget has learned.

That being said, there's still a ray of hope for "GTA" buffs waiting for "GTA 6's" release date. Producer of the video game, Leslie Benzies, even recently spilled the beans about the upcoming game at a press conference.

Benzies noted that the company has about 45 years' worth of ideas they want to do. He admitted that they currently don't know what "GTA 6" will be, but clarified that they have got some ideas, ValueWalk reported.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest that "GTA 6," if released, will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One S as well as PC. Some even speculate that "GTA 6's" release date is confirmed for 2018, which stems from the fact that Rockstar Games usually take 5 years to release "GTA" games.
