The upcoming "Avenger: Infinity War" movie will definitely feature Benedict Cumberbatch, wherein the British actor will be seen playing the role of Doctor Strange in the Marvel Universe.

Cumberbatch Confirms Doctor Strange in Infinity War

Cumberbatch confirmed indirectly that his Doctor Strange character will appear in the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War." The "Sherlock" actor recently told reporters that he is trying to fit in his busy calendar to meet with four other actors namely, Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (J.A.R.V.I.S. / Vision) and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man).

It did not take long to deduce that he was actually referring to the film production of "Avengers: Infinity War," Express reported. He also added that his Doctor Strange persona is needed to unfold the next chapter in the Marvel Universe storyline. Aside from Dr. Strange, other Marvel characters such as the "Guardians of the Galaxy" may appear as cameos in the upcoming film, Moviepilot reported.

Doctor Strange Cameo in "Thor: Ragnarok"

Cumberbatch is also set to appear in another upcoming Marvel superhero movie, "Thor: Ragnarok." Doctor Strange may also possibly appear in a yet to be titled fourth "Avenger" movie, which is expected to be released sometime in 2019. There are also rumors among fans that a second "Doctor Strange" movie will possibly come out on 2020.

If these reports and rumors are to be believed, Cumberbatch will have a very busy schedule just merely playing the role of Doctor Strange. However, he might still have enough time in his busy schedule to continue with the "Sherlock" series.

Marvel Universe Movie Release Date

Cumberbatch's "Doctor Strange" is expected to be released in Britain on Oct. 25 and on Nov. 4 in the United States. "Thor: Ragnarok," on the other hand, will have its UK release on Oct. 27, 2017 and US release date on Nov. 3, 2017. Meanwhile, the "Avengers: Infinity War" is expected to be released on April 27, 2018 in the UK and May 4 in the US.
