"F@#$ the clown!" was one of the prevalent chantings one can hear as students from Pennsylvania State University defiantly mock the killer clown scare. This was after rumors once again spread about killer clown sightings at Penn State and Belmont University in Nashville.

Although a lot of students were scared because of the rumors, they stormed the streets - around 500 of them - and hunted the killer clown everywhere while chanting expletives against the clown and "We are Penn State" alternatively. Some students even climbed trees and higher structures to make sure all areas have been covered.

As the students hunt for the clown, the police are also on call ready to respond to any reports of sightings. Turned out that the rumor was just a hoax to cause a fear frenzy among students. Police said that there were no clown sightings nor are there any damage or injury reported.

"If there were any clowns with these many students out there and with our police responding to calls, we would have run into it," said Sgt. Mike Nelson of the Penn State police.

Meanwhile, the killer clown rumors at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee incited students to bring golf clubs and baseball bats and hunt for the clown. This was after a photo of the clown roaming the university's dormitory grounds was posted on Reddit. However, it was taken after Paul Murphey, the student who posted it, realized the hysteria it has caused. He also apologized and admitted that it was just a hoax.

The killer clown hysteria started when reports of killer clown sightings made the rounds on social media on August 21. The said clown was reportedly roaming around Greenville County. Police, however, investigated and found no evidence linked to the sightings. Despite the assurance, the killer clown obsession has continuously spread throughout the country.
