While the iPad Mini and Pro things we've heard may be just rants, but connecting the dots looking backwards at some information, can shed some light to Apple tablets' future. Here's what we know so far!

Apple rumor: iPad Mini 5 specs, release date

There have been rumors of iPad Mini 5 release date, which is predicted to be in March 2017. The rumor suggests that the debut of a new size iPad Mini might be unwrapped alongside the new variant of iPad Pro 2. Apple is said to equip the Mini variant with 3 GB of RAM and possibly 9.inch retina display.

However, looking back to year 2015 when BusinessInsider wrote about Apple's plan to discontinue iPad Mini variant - the news stated that the company will stop producing the Mini variant in order to focus on a larger tablets. It is unclear whether there will be no iPad Mini in the near future, or the upcoming tablet will be Apple's last iPad Mini.

The small tablet does not bring much revenue to Apple since it has the least popularity among its bigger siblings, based on the data from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners in the first quarter 2014 and 2015.

That brings us to the next rumor.

Apple rumor: iPad Pro 2 specs, release date

A much upgraded Apple Pencil, smoother navigation and 10.5 inch iPad Pro variant - these are some of the rants circulating through the web since the past few months. Analyst Ming Chi Kuo has also made a claim that the 10.5-inch tablet would target educational and commercial segments.

If Kuo mentions about three variants of iPads, two of which will sport A10 X chipset for faster performance. iPad Pro 2 is expected to be launched sometime in March 2017. UniversityHerald previously wrote the rumor about iPad Pro that could feature an AMOLED screen but not until 2018.

Apple rumor: What to expect at Apple October event?

October could be the month of Macbook Pro 2016 as reported by Bloomberg. Aside from the newest graphics chip, the upcoming Macs will likely be thinner, sport OLED touch bar, and possibly Skylake processor as discussed in one of the University Herald articles.
