Much to the dismay of the Surface Pro 5 enthusiasts, Microsoft still seems to be refraining from divulging any sort of information regarding its highly anticipated ultraportable device.

To make things worse, it looks like there is a general agreement among industry watchers that the October launch of the device will not come to fruition.
Once launched, the purported 2-in-1 device is predicted to be one of the most robust handheld devices that can easily compete with other counterparts.

Amid rumors hinting that the highly lauded tablet will be unveiled sometime this October, the Redmond-based software maker has remained mum about upcoming events, according to VineReport.

Meanwhile, some tech gurus hazard a guess that Microsoft could be gearing up to launch a completely different hardware in which some tech pundits are betting on the company's other equally anticipated gadget, their AIO (all in one) computer dubbed as the Surface PC.

Moreover, Microsoft is said to be waiting for Intel's forthcoming processor known as the Kaby Lake. The chip is said to be mass produced later this year. That being said, it seems safe to assume that the tablet might finally be launched in 2017. Besides, previous rumors have indicated that the company is tweaking their current Windows 10 OS (operating system). It worth noting that the said update dubbed as Redstone 2 is also slated to be fully operational and roll out not before 2017.

In the event that a Surface Pro 5 is launched, it is likely to come with 4K support coupled with 16MP primary camera, and an 8MP front shooter. Moreover, the imminent iteration could arrive with a mammoth 16GB of RAM (random access memory) with varying makes of the Kaby Lake chip in which the premium variant of the device could be up for grabs for a steep price of $1800, ChristianTimes reported.

While it may look like those anxiously waiting for the Surface Pro 5 are in for a really long wait, readers are advised to take these rumors with a grain of salt as none of these speculations have officially been confirmed by Microsoft.
