The debate between Clinton and Trump is on its way to be the most-watched show debate ever, beating Reagan and Carters 1980 presidential debates.

The debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump was anticipated as the biggest TV even in the year 2016, and initial ratings have inferred that it will be a record breaker. The ratings coming from 13 networks who broadcasted the debate as live coverage are now in, and the event managed to acquire a total of 84 million views. Needless to say, it surpassed Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan's 1980 presidential debates, which then had 80 million views, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Broadcasting companies have showcased the 90-minute debate easily topping all debate coverage. The Big Four broadcasting networks pulled of a total of 49.1 million viewers. The number is 25 percent higher from the past debate's number of viewers, currently leading network is NBC with 18.2 million, followed by ABC (13.5 Million) and Fox (5.5 million). Other subnetworks comprises the remaining number of those viewers, USA Today reported.
