Looks like a good news for Nintendo 3DS owners who missed May's Mythical Pokemon as Niantic is giving them another chance to catch it.

The dark-mythical creature dubbed, Darkrai was first available at GameStop stores last month. As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, The Pokemon Company collaborated with GameStop to offer codes for Darkrai. But quite a few zealous Pokemon fans were unable to get their hands on the coveted monster. Pokemon Trainer Club subscribers were offered a second chance to grab the Pokemon just last month.

Fret not! From now until the end of next month i.e. October 31, players will be able to capture the highly lauded Pokemon for any of the mainline Pokemon games, according to a recent post on Pokemon.com.

The qualifying titles include Pokemon Omega Ruby, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon X, and Pokemon Y where players can simply input the "Darkrai20" code into any of the aforementioned game's Mystery Gift to add Darkrai to their collection.

Considering that this is the third giveaway this year, it looks like the originally hard-to-find rare monster has become quite common in the last few months.

Niantic Ramps Up Its Fight Against Hackers

In other news, Niantic ramps up its efforts to curb cheating in the game by taking another jab at hackers, and rooted devices with 'Safety Net.'

The studio's latest move is to work with the same system that several NFC wireless payment systems do on Android devices. Basically, ''Safety Net' ensures that the user's handset is not rooted, according to a report on SlashGear.

No prizes for guessing, Niantic's implementation of Safety Net will not be restricted from detecting the device's altered Android system. This implies that any use of tips, tricks, and hacks will not be permitted.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if those users who are hell-bent on cheating come up with some sort of solution to this, but for now it looks like those that play legit finally have something to cheer for.
