Major upgrades are expected for the upcoming MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in 2017 as the former is believed to have an Intel Kaby Lake processor while the latter will feature a retina display. Apple October event is not yet confirmed but one thing is for sure - the tech giant has not killed off the MacBook Air.

MacBook Pro 2017

Several sources claimed that a MacBook Pro with Intel Kaby Lake will be impossible for the year 2016 since the aforementioned 7^th generation Intel chipset will be release in 2017. However, analysts expect Apple to launch a MacBook Pro run in Intel Skylake processor instead in the upcoming October event according to Forbes. It is also believed that 'MacBook Pro 2016" is installed with AMD graphic processor.

The new MacBook Pro is said to be thinner and lighter compared to its predecessor. The most expected spec is the function keys located in the OLED display screen. USB-C ports and Touch ID fingerprint sensor are rumored to have been included in the 2017 laptop flagship. In the case of 3.5mm headphone jack removal, reports claimed that Apple is likely to retain the old audio jack but others claimed that it is possible for MacBook Pro 2017 to utilize the wireless headsets.

 MacBook Air 2017

It was previously reported that Apple killed off MacBook Air brands due to issues on sales. But recent reports claimed that the previously released MacBook Air in 2015 will have its successor in 2017 built with great features. According to MacWorld, it is highly possible that Apple will debut a Retina MacBook Air for 2017 between the months of March and May. Apple is believed to be preparing for major upgrades in the new MacBook Air such as USB-C ports and Apple Pencil enable trackpad. It can be recall that the last upgrade received by MacBook Air is the addition of RAM.
