The Apple Watch Series 2 may have been a big leap for Apple Inc.'s wearable device, but the tech company has an even bigger shift planned. The Cupertino based company wants to change smoothly the Apple Watch from a fitness tracking device to a fully developed medical diagnostic tool.

The ambitions of Apple in the mobile health sphere are no secret. Unlike an R&D project, in the same way like the Apple Car, the tech company has been very enthusiastic about the possibility of helping diagnose illnesses, according to Cult Of Mac.

Tim Cook, Apple CEO, stated earlier this year at a conference in Amsterdam that if a person drive for a while and their car gets too hot, it says pull over. If a person needs an oil change, that person will be indicated to check their oil. Cook also said that health is a huge issue around the world and they think it's the right time for simplicity and a new view.

The tech company has pushed its HealthKit as well as ResearchKit platforms heavily, and get a hold of a various health-tracking companies and medical experts.

However, people familiar with the issue explain the details of two apps that are in the works. One is to track a person's sleeping pattern, which a person didn't have to take the watch off every night to recharge, BGR reported.

The other app is meant to gauge users' overall fitness levels by calculating how long their heart rate takes to go from peak to resting level. If the smartwatch owner combines that data with information about their sex, height, and weight, they get a very accurate picture of their recovery rate. That means it is a good substitute for overall health and fitness.

The broader scope of the tech company's plans is to insert its software and hardware into the hospital system.
