Recently surfaced rumors centering on the MacBook Pro 2016 release date indicate that Apple could unveil the much awaited laptop this October. Some optimistic reports have even narrowed down the date to October 26. Meanwhile, other sources that don't have an exact date for the launch; hazard a guess that Apple will probably unveil the purported laptop during last quarter of the year.

Since we are just months away from the alleged release date, let's delve into the radical changes Apple may have made on to the imminent MacBook Pro.

MacBooK Pro 2016: Intel Or AMD?

The MacBook Pro 2016 will reportedly pack Intel's seventh-generation Kaby Lake processing chip, which some claim is the cause of the laptop's delayed unveiling.

However, it is also speculated that the Cupertino based tech firm may break the trend and go for AMD instead for their new 64-bit A10 Fusion chipset. The idea was strongly supported by The Verge report which claims that the A10 Fusion chip in iPhone 7 has sent the US-based chip maker to anxiety.

Despite the fact that the A10 Fusion is used in smartphones such as the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, it is said to be robust enough to handle workloads of a PC. The current MacBook Pro laptops has Intel Core i5s, i7s processors and it remains to be seen if Apple will change course and turn to AMD processor instead for their upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 laptops.

MacBook Pro 2016 Specs & Features

If rumors proved to be true, the new MacBook Pro may sport an OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display touch bar right on the top of the keyboard. Moreover, it is likely to feature a USB Type-C port, and a Thunderbolt 3 port. Various sources suggest that the laptop will also boast a biometric Touch ID functionality. According to VineReport, the MacBook Pro 2016 may also support 5K displays with a resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels.

The MacBook Pro 2016 will be up for grabs in two variants i.e. with 8GB of RAM and with 16GB of RAM. The purported laptop is said to feature a SSD (solid-state drive) that can be upgraded up to 1TB.

Apple has opted to remain mum regarding these rumors doing rounds and has neither confirmed nor denied them. Readers are therefore advised to take these speculations with a huge grain of salt as the tech giant has yet to announce if they are even working on a new MacBook Pro.
