Liza Anderson is as well-known as the famous personalities her company handles. She first came into the business of public relations fifteen years ago and went on to build her own company, the Anderson Group PR.

Asked how she was able to break through in a male-dominated industry, Anderson said that she did not think about it that way. Instead, she worked hard and focused on what she was doing best.

" I don't really bring the whole male dominated world mentality into my mind-set, because I don't really believe that serves anybody well, whether that be myself or anybody else involved in what I do. So, I just figure that we should get to work and work hard and take care of our clients, and everything else will speak for itself," she said.

And one of the ways she takes good care of her clients is by listening to them. By listening, it means that she understands that each of her clients are unique individuals with their own talents and desires. In order to do that, she gives each of them her singular attention so she can listen carefully. For her, listening is the first step to success.

Aside from listening, she also mentioned that being surrounded by people who are very essential is another key to success. Being surrounded by equally hard-working people who share her passion and drive is much more important than focusing on the economy. She further adds that focusing on the economics alone can be depressing but if one works harder, better results will definitely come.
When asked about how to create a lasting movie star, Anderson has an amazing insight that applies not only to stars but to everyone else.

"You can become much more than you can ever think possible," she said, "There are a lot of different ways to build a brand, and again, everybody is different, but it's a wonderful way for people to keep their lives interesting and exciting."

Finally, she gave an advice not only to those who want to venture into public relations saying that staying as an intern first is very important because it gives clarity to what career or industry one really wants to pursue. It also serves as a time of learning from someone else who has had wisdom and knowledge about the industry.
