Nvidia just released the hardware specs of their new Nvidia GTX 1070. This new graphics card will be set for release alongside another powerful graphics card: the GTX 1080. Here's some comparison between the two.

Although the GTX 1070 has a very attractive price, it is a little bit behind the  GTX 1080. Considering the price difference between the two, it is interesting to get a benchmark comparison to see whether getting the cheaper GTX 1070 is worth it or not. Howerver, the specs and features mostly favors the GTX 1080, acording to Gear Nuke.

The Nvidia GTX 1080 packs a GP104-400 GPU with a base computing power of 8.2 TFLOPs. However, it can go full power up to 8.9 TFLOPs. The GTX 1070, on the other hand,  features  a GP104-200 GPU which has a computing power of 5.8 TFLOPs. The top computing power of the GTX 1070 is up to 6.5 TFLOPs. While both cards has 8 GB memory, the GTX 1070 features a GDDR5 while the GTX 1080 packs a GDDR5X .

Nvidia's GTX 1080  has  2,560 CUDA cores which is 500 cores more than the previous card, the GTX 980. Its  clock has a mighty speed of        1,607 MHz with an average boost of 1,733 MHz. The GTX 1070, on the other hand packs  1920 CUDA cores which are divided into  15 streaming multi processors (GTX 1080 has 20 multiprocessors). Its boost clock is  down to  1,506 MHZ, but this is still a powerful unit compared to the cards released last year.

While  GTX 1080 outpowers the Nvidia GTX 1070 in terms of features, specs, and performance,  the GTX 1070 can still take it head-on because it has a lower price. Also it can be an excellent substitute whenever a user does not use the device for high-end applications.  Also, both Nvidias are very excellent graphic cards since both units have Pascal 16 nm FinFET architecture.  For high-end situations,  a GTX 1080 would not fail its user. However, for those who feel that the price for GTX 1080 is too high, the GTX 1070 is a more affordable sustitute, Tech Radar reported.
