While rumor mills continue to swirl speculations around the controversy-plagued Galaxy Note 7, Samsung recently launched the Galaxy J7 Prime in Vietnam, the company's latest entry into the mid-range smartphones genre.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has been launched in India and the phone is up for grabs for Rs. 18,790 (about $280). The handset is slated to hit the store shelves in Asia and other countries in near future. The Galaxy J7 Prime offers enough to satisfy the average needs of a typical user, perhaps a little more.

The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch screen with a full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and an IPS LCD display panel. The mammoth display coupled with a robust 3,300 mAh battery and a slew of camera specs make the phone pretty neat.

The Galaxy J7 Prime comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 screen protection. Moreover, Samsung has beefed up its security features by placing a fingerprint scanner below the Home Button, Mobile&Apps reported.

Multiple sources allude to the Galaxy J7 Prime as a performance-oriented smartphone that is powered by an Exynos 7870 chipset with an octa-core processor, features 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 256GB, and 3GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system on TouchWiz UI skin.

The Galaxy J7 Prime sports a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP front shooter. The camera comes with an array of awe-inspiring features including HDR, 1080p video recording, face detection and geo-tagging.

Furthermore, the smartphone features microUSB v2.0 and USB On-The-Go that facilitate faster charging and data transfers. The powerful 3,300mAh non-removable battery offers 10 hours of life to the device. In terms of connectivity options, the phone includes Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and GPS.

One of the most notable features of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is the S Bike Mode that sends a message when a user is unable to answer a call. For instance, when you are riding a bike.

Meanwhile, consumers in Vietnam can order a Galaxy J7 Prime phone and check out the price on the official Samsung website in Vietnam, according to reports on NeuroGadget. The phone costs VND 6,290,000 ( about $282).
