Messenger Platform v1.2 brings the merchant closest to consumers through its 30,000 bots for making payments from merchants such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Paypal and many others without leaving the app. Aside from that, the management is eyeing to include group video calling and voice command for navigation and dictating in the future upgrades.

Just recently, the Messenger platform of Facebook has received an important updates. Filling all the gaps when it comes to e-commerce, Messenger is now accepting payments through merchants such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Paypal and many other accredited financial services providers. The major update was announced by the Vice President of Facebook and Head of Messenger David Marcus during an onstage interview by Tech Crunch.

According to Marcus, arranging your travels and paying it through messenger is possible without leaving the app. Unlike before, back in April when purchasers are linked to another websites for the payment transactions. The main goal of this initiative is to build an ecosystem where businessmen and consumers meet halfway and discuss what it needs to be talked about. CNET reported that Marcus' long term goal for Messenger is to bring life together in a more organized way.

For the record, Facebook Messenger has 300 million active users every month in voice and video calling alone. With this, Messenger invested heavily last April when they introduced an artificial intelligence-powered chatbots that can do simple tasks like ordering flowers for you without having to leave the app.

With this latest development, Marcus is looking towards more Messenger functionalities to be included in the app for future upgrades. Messenger can be a Skype alternative if they will introduce the group video calling or probably an SMS alternative as it has slowly becoming one today. Another possible feature is the voice-command capabilities where users can dictate while navigating where it calls for much convenience.
