Sony made it known to the public that the PlayStation VR, the tech giant's entry into the expanding virtual reality industry, will roll out with a demo disc upon its launch on October 13.

The physical disc will include samples of eight games for PlayStation VR, and could be the tech company's strategy of ensuring that gamers who receive their PlayStation VR systems on October 13 will be able to throw themselves into the virtual reality right away through the sample games, Tech Times reported.

The rundown of what a gamer will get to test drive the PlayStation VR right out of the box includes Driveclub VR, PlayStation VR Worlds, "RIGS Mechanized Combat League" (combat sports video game), Tumble VR, video game series "Battlezone," "EVE: Valkyrie" (multiplayer dogfighting shooter game), "Wayward Sky," and Frame Interactive's Headmaster, according to PlayStation.

But, gamers should take note that the information on the eight games included in the PlayStation VR demo disc was uploaded by Sony's PlayStation blog's European version, which means the lineup could be change depending on the player's region.

However, a number of people have pitched in their opinion that a demo disc is a nostalgic throwback to the circa of 90s and early 2000, when internet speeds were slow and trying a game before a person bought it was standard practice.

It's unclear whether a gamer will be able to download these PlayStation VR demos without the disc, and it's safe to say that this is a sign that the tech company thinks its network won't be up to supporting a pack of the VR game downloads on launch day, based on the report of Polygon.

Anyway, as PlayStation VR arrives, gamers are required to free up about 60 square feet of free space in their living rooms. As the system recommended a play area of 9.8 feet lengthwise by 6.2 feet crosswise.
