Another awaited movie franchise is coming back to the big screens this January. Kate Beckinsale is back as Selene in the new "Underworld: Blood Wars".

Just as expected from the franchise, the new "Underworld" movie packs a gloomy aura full of vampires with white skins and blue eyes as well as werewolves also known as the Lycans. This time, Sony Pictures and its company, Screen Gems, will literally stick to their guns. As bullets fly around, Kate Beckinsale's Selene is moving around just as bad ass as before while keeping her makeup on. The basic plot of the sequel revolves around the ongoing "Blood Wars", according to Cinema Blend.

The Lycans and the Vampires have been in constant battle against each other for centuries. The previous prequels already told about how Selene got caught up with the Lycans: through her lover, Michael Corvin, is a Lycan-Vampire hybrid. Now, Selene is tangled in the war between the Vampires and the Lycans. The trailer did not highlight the plot of the upcoming film but it sure does pack a ton of action. One thing worth noting: Selene fights Lycans and Vampires alike.

The familiar casts will be back including Kate Beckinsale as Selene. However, the role of Michael Corvin, Selene's wolf lover, was given to Trent Garrett who replaced the former Michael Corvin actor, Scott Speedman. Selene's father, Thomas, would also be returning and the role will be played by Game of Thrones actor Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister). Selene will also be aided by another ally, David, whose role played by Theo James, ComingSoon.net reported.

Other casts would include Tobias Menzies as a Lycan leader and Laura Pulver  as an ambitious Vampire; James Faulkner; Peter Anderson; Clementine Nicholson; Bradley James; and Daisy Head. The film was directed by Anna Foerster and will hit the cinemas on January 6, 2017.
