Square Enix's fifth installment in the Final Fantasy franchise, which is dubbed as "Final Fantasy XV," is due to hit the gamers later this year. Even though the action role-playing video game is still more than a month far, but game director Hajime Tabata hinted into what the game will feature.

As the standards in the RPG genre just keeps on changing, Square Enix features some new things to the video game mechanics to keep the fifth installment up to speed.

But FFXV hasn't drastically changed, which means players shouldn't be intimidated by the video game turning into something completely unrecognizable, based on the report of Mobipicker.

FFXV now features a hybrid of open world RPG action and linear gameplay. As the video game is approximately 50 hours long, the latter half will have linear story missions. This new system of mixed gameplay will be the first for the Final Fantasy franchise.

To enhance the gameplay even further, "Final Fantasy XV" will have a total of 6 add-ons. As the game offers a variety of weapons to combat with, FFXV players can use the sniper mode in rifles. Players can also use machinery to inflict some deadly moves such as Attack Wave and Circular Saw.

Director Hajime Tabata, explained on why things become more linear towards the end of the game. Tabata stated that he didn't want to end the game in an open world type of environment. Tabata added that he wanted to ensure that that last part will have a distinction from the open world environment, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.

On the other hand, as Square Enix had a showing at this year's PAX West in Washington, the video game company highlighted some new gameplay footage for the upcoming "Final Fantasy XV," Cinema Blend reported.

"Final Fantasy XV" will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 29.
