The alleged HTC Nexus Sailfish has surfaced online in a leak yet again, offering what looks like the most comprehensive view of the device to date and unveiling a few specifications as well.

It is no secret that Google is gearing up to launch a couple of Nexus smartphones that will serve as launch vehicles for its latest Android operating system version. Rumors are rife about HTC making both devices, code-named Sailfish and Marlin, and now more information has surfaced online regarding the HTC Nexus Sailfish.

The HTC Nexus Sailfish Latest Leak

The recently-surfaced photos on Weibo (via AndroidPure) show the Nexus Sailfish with the new Nexus launcher, which is said to replace the bigger Google Search widget with a comparatively smaller and simpler G tab. The leaked images neither show the purported multi-colored home button, nor any sort of changes in the navigation bar button.

In terms of design, the device sports some big bezels, rounded corners, the volume rocker and the power button placed on the right side and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. As far the rear cover is concerned, the Nexus Sailfish sports a dual look on its back with a patterned texture at the top, sports the rear camera and LED flash, and a metallic design at the lower portion.

If the latest leak is anything to go by, the Nexus Sailfish will come with a USB Type-C connector port, bottom-mounted speakers and the 3.5 mm audio jack which is placed at the top.

As far as technical specs are concerned, the HTC Nexus Sailfish is said to sport a 5-inch display with a full HD resolution (1080p), which converts to a pixel density of 440 ppi (pixels per inch).

The device will be powered by 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 2 GHz, coupled with 4 GB of RAM. When it comes to internal storage, the purported specifications hint a 32 GB of internal storage capacity. The device will pack a 2,770 mAh battery and will sport a 12 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front shooter.

Aside from the aforesaid leak that gives best look at the HTC Nexus Sailfish so far, exact pricing details for both Marlin and Sailfish have leaked as well, hinting that the two phones are likely to be more expensive than the Nexus 5X and 6P.

Sailfish And Marlin Pricing Leak

Apparently, the 32 GB HTC Nexus Sailfish will come with a price tag of $449, which is a jump in price compared with the 32 GB Nexus 6P, which currently sells for $399 on the Google Store. Moreover, the 32 GB HTC Nexus Marlin will be up for grabs for $599, which is $100 more than 32 GB Nexus 6P, which currently sells for $499 on the Google Store, NexusBlog reported.

Is The Nexus Program Dead?

In other news, several people familiar with Google plans have claimed that the Nexus program is defunct. Last year's Huawei Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X have been the last Nexus-branded smartphone ever, GSM Arena reported.

The much-awaited HTC-built handsets that fans believed would be 2016's Nexuses will reportedly have different branding, the unidentified sources have claimed. No further details were divulged, so there is a possibility that the purported handsets made by HTC will simply be dubbed as Google phones or something similar.

Although HTC is producing these handsets, the Marlin and Sailfish will not sport HTC's brand anywhere on them. With the Nexus handsets, usually the manufacturer's brand displayed at the side of the Nexus logo; if these reports proved to be true, this won't be the case henceforth.

Both the Nexus Sailfish and Marlin are slated to hit the store shelves sometime in late September or early October, geared with either the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, or Android 7.1.
