Vanderbilt has revealed the names of the four players dismissed amid the sexual abuse investigation, USA Today reported.

The players are Cory Lamont Batey, 19, from Nashville; Brandon Vandenburg, 20, from California; Brandon Eric Banks, 19, from Maryland; JaBorian "Tip" McKenzie, 18, from Mississippi.

"For student athletes at Vanderbilt, it is a privilege, not a right, to be a part of the program," head football coach James Franklin said in a statement. "My coaching staff and I make sure every member of our team understands that. We insist on high standards of personal responsibility and integrity, and there are consequences when those standards are not met."

Franklin included that the university is continuing to cooperate with the Metropolitan Police Sex Crimes Unit in its investigation.

"We are cooperating fully with the Nashville Police Department and have pledged not to say or do anything that could interfere with its work or compromise the rights of anyone involved," Franklin said. "We have not prejudged anyone's guilt or innocence."

The four players were originally dismissed from the team and later kicked off campus for "violating team rules" at the same time the investigation was launched. The incident in question occurred on June 23 when Vanderbilt police received a sexual assault complaint.

The details have not been disclosed to protect the integrity of the case, but former Tennessee Volunteer quarterback Erik Ainge said on his radio show last week that he received an anonymous tip about what happened that night.

"Its pretty bad and its second hand info but reliable," he tweeted Wednesday morning about an hour before his show.

"It is four football players, one of whom had a girlfriend - girlfriend victim," Ainge said on his show Wednesday morning. "The four players, that girl were out, they were drinking."

At the time, Ainge said he was not given the names of the players or the victim.

"They went back, boyfriend, Vandy football player, had sex with his girlfriend and then allowed his three drunk teammates with him to also have sex with his girlfriend - and she obviously did not want that to be the case."

USA Today reached only one player's mother, but she declined to comment. None of the other players or their families could be reached.

"In dealing with this matter, the Commodores football team will continue to hold itself to the same high standards of responsibility and integrity Vanderbilt demands of all of our students," Franklin said.

Vanderbilt declined to comment further.
