Apple Inc. is all geared up to unveil the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at its launch event which is slated to take place on September 7. Besides the new smartphones, the tech company is also expected to announce the next generation of its smartwatch, Apple Watch 2.

The specifications and new features of the Apple Watch 2 has been widely known across leaked reports, but new images have surfaced that directs Apple fans' attention to a 36 percent larger battery on the Apple Watch 2, BGR reported.

The larger battery is allegedly designed for the 42mm Apple smartwatch variant, which currently has a 246 mAh battery, suggesting the upcoming generation 42mm model could have about 35.7% larger battery.

But, the photo did not point out any potential battery life improvements coming to the smaller 38mm model, which is currently stocked with a 205 mAh battery, based on the report of Mac Rumors.

In spite of the fact of the photos validity cannot be confirmed, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the tech company will launch this year an Apple Watch 2 with a much higher capacity battery.

However, as Apple Watch 2 is expected to be released with a faster TSMC-built processor, barometer, GPS, as well as superior waterproofing and a higher capacity battery, the upcoming smartwatch will not feature cellular networking. Both 38mm and 42mm screen sizes of the gadgets will be retained with thinner display technology adopted, according to Value Walk.

As the Cupertino based tech company provided a clue over the iPad 2 and iPhone 3GS transition, it seemed that the upcoming generation of Apple Watch will be about making improvements to the first.

While Apple fans may be longing for more features, it looks like the tech company is also aiming to provide a better user experience, as well as better performance of the gadget.
