Rumor mills have been churning speculations around the release of the successor to the Galaxy Tab S2 for a long time and it looks like the sneaking suspicion have turned out to be true as it has now been officially confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 will be unveiled in the month of September.

In a post on its Colombian website, Samsung has confirmed that the release of the Galaxy Tab S3 will coincide with the launch of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. For those unaware, the latter is slated to hit the store shelves in Europe on September 2. The aforesaid post was later taken down so that Samsung can make the announcement through their own terms.

While the expectation on the Galaxy Tab S3 hinge on the device's IFA appearance, a 9.7-inch Samsung tablet - which was speculated to be the Tab S3 - was spotted at the FCC by Ausdroid.

The report, however, did not divulge any sort of new details regarding the purported device. Nevertheless, it is still a significant event as this is a clear indicator that Samsung's new tablet is in the works.

Citing the leaked specifications, TheBitBag reported that both the impending models i.e. 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch display clad models, will pack 2,048 x 1,536 pixels screen resolution and will come equipped with Super AMOLED display technology.

Moreover, the models are also said to feature an octa-core (Snapdragon 652) SoC that comes with four Cortex-A72 CPU cores and four Cortex-A53 CPU cores onboard. The graphic requirement will reportedly be handled by Adreno 510 GPU, and backing the internal components will be 3 GB of RAM.

As the base variant, the Galaxy Tab S3 is likely to pack 32 GB of built-in storage space, in addition to a microSD card slot that enable expansion up to 128 GB, just like its precursor.

As far as the price of the Galaxy Tab S3 is concerned, it is hard to hazard a guess at the moment, but the storage and RAM are among key factors that have always influenced the price of the different variants of the Samsung tablets.

Meanwhile, the South Korean technology giant displayed strong signs indicating that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is likely to make an appearance along with the much-awaited debut of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

If rumors proved to be true, the Galaxy Note 7 will be available first in the U.K. on September 2. The new gadget will be released in Australia and North America on September 19.
