Samsung Galaxy J7 and Xiaomi Redmi 3S released this year offer similar specs, but what is the difference and which is the best buy?

Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 specs review: Design, hardware and software

Galaxy J7 sports 5.5 inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 267 ppi pixel density. Although this is considered low, but Samsung packs its handset with super AMOLED screen display that helps to boost the visibility and colors sharpness, indoor and outdoor.

Multitasking runs smoothly in Galaxy J7. It runs Android Marshmallow with octa-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 617. The dual-SIM has a dedicated slot for memory expansion using MicroSD although it is already gets spacious memory of 16 GB with 2 GB of RAM.

Galaxy J7 gets 3,300 mAh battery. Although many of today's smartphones offer 4,000+ mAh, Samsung's handset features ultra-power saving mode which could make the phone battery efficient. It sports 13 MP rear shooter with LED flash and autofocus; and 5 MP selfie shooter with LED flash, GSM Arena wrote.

Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 edition is not a powerhouse smartphone and for those looking for a phone with great specs and performance, this device may not be the best bet. However, you can count on Samsung's inevitably elegant design and sharp screen display, paired with good camera.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S specs review: Design, hardware and software

Xiaomi's budget phone has everything you wish for in a smartphone. It's got top-class specs and premium design, costing fairly cheap. Redmi 3S is powered by Snapdragon 430 chipset, Octa core CPU and 2 GB of RAM paired with 16 GB memory. There is 13 MP rear shooter and 5 MP selfie shooter. It uses SIM 2 slot for MicroSD card.

It is thin and comfortable in hand, sporting 5-inch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 294 ppi pixel density. The sharpness significantly reduced under the sunlight. Redmi 3S runs Android Marshmallow and it is also a gaming beast. Xiaomi equips Redmi 3S with non-removable Li-Ion 4100 mAh battery and turbo charging feature.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S is priced around $105.

Both devices sport different screen size but under the hood, the specs are almost similar. Given Redmi 3S awesome performance and pricing, it will make sense to make it the winner of this competition.
