"Criminal Minds" Season 12 is bound to lose one of the characters it had from the start of the show, Gibson's Hotch. Season 12 is going for a major overhaul with its characters.

In "Criminal Minds" Season 12, Shemar Moore went out earlier this year. In the upcoming season, Thomas Gibson may be headed out. In the previous season, Gibson's character was drugged by Mr. Scratch and in this season, Hotch may get killed.

There will be major changes in "Criminal Minds" Season 12. First, the loss of established characters, Moore and Gibson. Second, the new characters to replace them. Adam Rodriguez is already set to replace Moore as well as "The Talk's" Aisha Tyler, Movie News Guide reported. Both will now be regulars on the show.

Gibson has played Hotch on "Criminal Minds" since the beginning. So, it will certainly be difficult for fans to find an acceptable replacement. However, the network fired Gibson after allegations of physical altercations from one of the show's writers. Gibson was also set to direct some episodes of "Criminal Minds" Season 12.

In the first few episodes of "Criminal Minds" Season 12, the show will focus on the exit of Gibson's Hotch with the first episode starting off with Hotch under arrest for conspiracy  and will return in the last week of September 2016. Rodriguez will replace Moore's character in the show as Luke Alvez, a fresh BAU recruit, while Dr. Tara Lewis will be played by Aisha Tyler until a part of the last season.

The previous episodes showed Hotch under conspiracy charges as Mr. Scratch drugs and controls him, Game N Guide reported. So fans are guessing that in "Criminal Minds" Season 12, Scratch may kill Hotch.
