Samsung Galaxy Note 7's new iris scanning feature made an impact among users. However, using the iris scanner to authenticate the user's iris may take longer time than expected. Sometimes, the handset cannot identify the user's iris and could not be authenticated at all.

To avoid such issues, it is recommended that the iris scanning feature of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 be used properly. Samsung recommends that users hold their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 from 10 to 14-inches away from their face with a slanting orientation. If users fail to hold their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 properly, the iris sensor may not be able to read their iris, The Guardian reported.

Next is to make sure that the iris sensor is clean. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to prompt a notification to tell users to make sure the sensor is clean and unobstructed before use. Users could wipe the device with a cloth.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7's  iris scanner would also require that the users open their eyes widely in order to scan them. If the user is squinting or looking downward, the device will prompt a notification to ask the user to open their eyes wider.

It is also important that the user is in a steady state when using the iris scanner. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will not be able to scan accurately if the user is moving as they cannot position the device properly in front of their eyes, Reuters reported.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 iris scanning feature may also experience issues if the lighting is dim. Dark lighting may cause squinting of eyes which makes the iris hard to read and authenticate.

If Samsung Galaxy Note 7 user's eyes are not perfectly aligned and too far from the scanning frame, the device may not be able to authenticate as the scanner should be able to reach the iris in order to scan. Anyway, watch the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 review here.
