The HTC Vive is preferred by most developers as the virtual reality headset for video games. The reason behind the trend is easy to perceive.

The news is a huge boost to the virtual reality headset - HTC Vive, in addition to the platform itself, consumers who gave an impression in getting into virtual reality are also considering the software that comes with the VR headsets.

Reports came up that 49 percent of game developers are working on software for the virtual reality headset of HTC, while only 43 percent were focusing on the Oculus Rift and 34 percent are working on the Samsung Gear VR.

Adding up to the data, 29 percent are generating software for the inexpensive Cardboard of Google, while 15 percent of the developers are working on something for the tech company's more powerful smartphone-powered VR platform called as Daydream, according to GamaSutra.

However, when the type of software narrowed down to video games, the gap between the HTC Vive and its competitors widened. With almost 35 percent are setting up a game for the HTC Vive, while only a bit over 23 percent are making a title for the VR headset Oculus Rift.

The study does not really reached inside the explanation on why the HTC Vive is being preferred by a lot of developers. But, by what the VR headset could offer to the consumers, it could technically explain the reason behind such support.

Oculus Rift, which is one of the toughest rivals of HTC Vive, is typically focused on sit-down virtual reality experiences with conventional controls. While the HTC Vive was unleashed with room for scaling technology, as it allows users to physically move around their virtual space, rather than just look around it.

Compared with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive has just so much more that can be done - mostly in the highly imaginative world of video games, based on the report of Engadget.
