The latest mobile operating system Android 7.0 or Nougat has been successfully launched in the market few days ago. The developers of Android N promised an update and wide support for android users and latest rumors are the speculated Android 8.0 is coming to town in 2017. What will Google call its newest OS this time?

Android Nougat received positive reviews from the netizens most especially the android users and might be the reasons of these speculations about the upcoming Android 8.0. The systematic ways of Google for naming their operating system has cleverly traced out by Technos Amigos. In their blog entry, they predicted that Android 8.0 will be called Android Oatmeal. They call it alphabet-wise manner started from Android 1.6 named as Donut, Android 2.0 and 2.1 named as Éclair, Android 2.3 named as Froyo, Android 2.3 is Gingerbread up to the two latest ones Android 6.0 and Android 7.0 named as Marshmallow and Nougat, respectively.

Though these are totally predictions and creations of an imaginative mind, there's still a big possibility that this is going to be the next big thing in the Android world. Besides, there is still no confirmation from Google nor they never hinted about the rumors of another operating system.

Meanwhile, the developers of Android Beta program are currently updating the Android Nougat through its Maintenance Releases which means there is a possibility of an Android 7.1 and 7.2. If the user is already using Android Nougat, the device will automatically receive an update for the next MRs.

Most of the times, these MRs usually focuses on the bug fixes and under-hood tuning like the Marshmallow. The newly developed MRs of Nougat is expected to be available this fall of 2016 according to the blog of Android Developers. In addition, API level are expected to be one of the builds in the upcoming MRs of Nougat aside from the usual bug fixes.
