Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules, CBS Sports first reported.

A source told CBS that the suspension came after a failed drug test and now his future at the school is in jeopardy. Another source added that Henderson could be on his way to rehab.

"Since the season ended we have talked a lot about Marshall taking a greater leadership role with our team," Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said in a statement. "With that comes greater responsibility, and he must do a better job of living up to the high standard we expect from him and he desires from himself."

Henderson was seen in an Instagram video taken by Ole Miss football player Denzel Nkemdiche where he responded to the news saying "sadness, ho." He then looked into the camera and smiled. The video was taken down less than an hour after it went up.

Before transferring to Ole Miss, Henderson attended Utah, Texas Tech and South Plains Junior College, creating trouble at each stop.

On one occasion, he was caught trying to buy marijuana with counterfeit money. Soon after, he tested positive - reportedly for cocaine, marijuana and alcohol - while on probation and eventually served jail time for the violation.

On the court, Henderson earned a reputation for taunting the crowd and trash talking. In a loss to La Salle in the NCAA tournament, he gave the middle finger to the crowd. In an away game against the University of Florida, he ran along the sideline imitating the school's famous gator chomp.

The Ole Miss Rebels won the SEC basketball championship last season in large part to Henderson's play on the court. He averaged 20 points per game and also led the team to the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament.
