Japan's prime minister Shinzo Abe made a really special appearance in the summer Olympics closing ceremony.

In the video, the prime minister was on his way to the Tokyo's airport while worrying whether he could make it to Rio on time. He then morphed into Super Mario, rushed into a green pipe taken from Doraemon's 4D pocket, drilled his path and came out from a giant pipe right at the center of Maracana Stadium.

He was loudly applauded by the crowds. His appearance was in contrast to his serious character, which made it a surprise that quickly garnered praises. He did close the parade well - holding a glowing red ball as the surroundings faded to dark - reminding us of the rising sun flag.
