"Harry Potter Go" trailer, a game similar to "Pokemon Go" by Niantic Labs, was recently released. It gave fans a glimpse of what the game would look like if it will be pushed to production. The trailer was featured by Stargaze Media.

The trailer started with the Marauder's Map and highlighted many in-game features including the different magical academy houses, collecting magic cards, catching fantastic beasts and interacting with wizards. The "Harry Potter Go" trailer reportedly reached Niantic successfully, causing the developer to consider creating the game, Morning Ledger reported.

Although the trailer was made to entertain "Harry Potter" and "Pokemon Go" fans initially, Niantic thought that it may be a good idea to make an actual Harry Potter Go game, reportedly. The developer has acquired the rights for the "Harry Potter Go" game according to senior developer at Niantic Marcus Figueroa. He announced that they have plans of including the witchcraft and wizardry schools with a quest system and massive events.

The "Harry Potter Go" project has not received official plans yet but Figueroa said that they are looking at an early 2017 release date. He continued to reveal that the developing game title is "Maguss" which is set in a world of wizardry. "Maguss" is suggested to function with a wizard wand which means that the game may not completely copy "Pokemon Go."

The "Harry Potter Go" game could be a way to attract more fans of the books and movie franchise, Cinema Blend reported. Niantic could capitalize on "Harry Potter's" large and dedicated group of followers. It may also be a great way for the franchise's fans and followers to explore the world of wizardry in an interactive way.

"Pokemon Go" players may be able to find the game engaging even without reading and watching the films. Watch the "Harry Potter Go" trailer here.
