Apple Inc. will likely release the "Apple Watch 2" at a press event in September. But, Apple's new smartwatch won't come along with cellular connectivity, instead, the device will include GPS for enhanced fitness tracking and navigation.

When "Apple Watch" was released in April 25, it was widely known as one of the tech company's biggest slip ups when launching a new device in a new category, according to Tech Times.

Almost immediately after Apple opened its online store to begin accepting preorders for the smartwatch, customers were prompted out of stock messages on most models. While other customers who were able to secure the device were given a frustrating ship date as late as June.

It has been claimed that Apple will feature the ''Apple Watch 2" with a cellular chip, which means the device will still work without the need of an iPhone for connectivity, based on the report of Bloomberg.

However, reports came up that the cellular chip will typically consume too much battery life, in which it reduced the device's effectiveness and limiting user appeal.

As battery life is already a problem for the "Apple Watch," executives then expressed their concerns that the upcoming smartwatch that incorporates cellular won't be ready in time for the slated September launch, Business Insider reported.

Anyway, Apple's upcoming smartwatch is expected to feature the same design like its predecessor. But, "Apple Watch 2" is claimed to receive internal upgrades in the form of a higher capacity battery, as well as a faster processor and improved waterproof case. "Apple Watch 2" is also expected to run the upcoming watchOS 3 app.

The new OS of the smartwatch is a major upgrade that includes new features such as a dedicated Dock to store a person's favorite app, new health and fitness capabilities, as well as applications launch instantly.
