At the Nissan "BladeGlider" concept car event, Gareth Dunsmore, Nissan Europe director of electric vehicles, stated that their company has all the necessary means on the technical side to make an electric sports car.

The BladeGlider is a strange looking sports car, that features a skinny track at the front and a wider track at the rear, that gives the vehicle the appearance of a motorized arrow head.

The Nissan "BladeGlider" made its real-world induction in a poorly Karting circuit that's located around 50-miles outside the center of Rio de Janeiro, based on the report of Pocket-lint.

The company was asked as to why they invested so much time and money into a prototype that probably won't hit the market, Dunsmore stated that they wanted to prove that electric cars can be exciting.

The director of EV Nissan Europe also said that the only way to make it possible is actually to build something, to let individuals experience it for themselves. As customers aren't yet demanding for electrically-powered vehicles in large numbers, that could typically reverse by the end of the decade.

The director of EV Nissan Europe made it known that the concept of the electric sports car is to help convince potential Nissan consumers that electric cars can still be sexy.

Nissan "BladeGlider" is powered by an electric motor for each rear wheel, in which it gives the vehicle independent torque-vectoring capability, according to The Drive.

At 4,300mm, the Bladeglider has almost the same length with the "Ford Focus," but the electric sports car sits incredibly low to the ground. The roof height of the vehicle is 1,300mm, Auto Express reported.

As stated by Williams Advanced Engineering, which collaborated with Nissan Motor Company in the development of "BladeWing," the 268-horsepower output of the electric sports car can run from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than five seconds and the vehicle top out at 155 mph.
