Apple Watch 2 is expected to debut alongside iPhone 7 this year. Apple launched its first series of smartwatch last year. The rants build up around its next generation specs - new features coming to the wearable gear.

Apple Watch 2 rumor: the smart concept

The previous rumors on Apple Watch 2 assumed that there will not be major change in its design. However, MacRumors and a few other sources speculate that Apple smartwatch will use a completely new glass design. Analyst Ming Chi Kuo has also made a statement around the wearable; saying that there will be new features coming, waterproof watch with upgraded processors.

Apple Watch 2 rumor: GPS-based chip to improve accuracy

In addition to the rants, the updated smartwatch is likely to have GPS based chip under the hood. It allows location tracking for its health and fitness apps.

The Cupertino giant is said to have the watch improved in terms of battery, navigation and barometer.

There have also been rumors around the cellular connectivity that Apple would like to bring in next generation Apple Watch. The current wearable requires users to be 'in contact' with their device in order to be fully functioned. Bloomberg heard from a few sources and found that Apple plans to integrate cellular connectivity so it will become a standalone smartwatch. It is also said to consume lower power.

However, it will not debut this year. The source claimed that this was the reason Apple delays the release. There are many challenges to overcome and the time-frame to launch this type of model would likely be early next year.

Apple Watch 2 rumor: improved processor

Apple smartwatch will be equipped with the latest ARM Cortex A32. Many have speculated that the company will upgrade the specs without compromising battery. It is expected to have higher RAM as well.
