"No Man's Sky" players are advised not to go too fast when exploring inside the ship as some frame rate drops severely according to Digital Foundry. Fortunately, slowing down or doubling back to fly across the previously-discovered terrain quickly fixes the problem.

Digital Foundry, which tests new games performance by putting them through their paces, found out that when flying rapidly in space using the ship's boost, "No Man's Sky" framerate drops down to 14 fps. Other than that, the game runs at 30fps frame rate cap majority of the time especially while on foot. The number of creatures on the screen and even the terrain do not seem to have an effect on the performance of the game, Gamespot reported.

Developer Hello Games is reportedly aware of the issue. However, no announcement has been made yet as to whether or not the ship boost framerate issue will be addressed. It seems possible though as the "No Man's Sky" day one patch released caused a dramatic improvement on many of the game's core systems.

Also, creator Sean Murray has reportedly outlined new features such as base building and freighters that will be arriving to the game in future updates. He previously stated that "No Man's Sky" might not be the game that fans have imagined. He also said that things like PvP multiplayer or city building, piloting freighters or building civilizations is not what the game is about, Techno Buffalo reported.

"No Man's Sky's" 30fps frame rate cap and frame rate drops, however, will not likely be an issue for PC players. Higher frame rates is expected for the game's PC version and there will be less severe frame drops for those with powerful gaming rigs. PC players can also expect to have the same experience as PS4 players when "No Man's Sky" PC version is released on Aug. 12. Watch the "No Man's Sky" PS4 gameplay frame-rate test here.
