Looks like a successor to the Galaxy Grand Prime smartphone will be released soon as several tech publications have caught sight of a device with model of SM-G532F on India's import-export tracking website Zauba.

Samsung announced the original Galaxy Grand Prime back in September 2014. The smartphone was earlier rolled out only in selected Asian markets, but within just a few months it made an official debut in the United States.

Apparently, Samsung is testing the successor of the Galaxy Grand Prime, which reports claim could be dubbed Galaxy Grand Prime (2016).

This is not the first time the impending Galaxy device has been detected on Zauba, it has been spotted thrice on the export and import tracking website before. The handset was first seen on July 21, then on August 4 and again on August 6. In all, eight units of the device carrying model number SM-G532F were shipped to India, TechTimes reported.

The previous listing indicated a price tag of $103.

The original Galaxy Grand Prime carried a model number SM-G531, which indicates the new handset will probably be the successor of the Galaxy Grand Prime. If the Zauba listing is anything to go by, the model SM-G532F will come with a 5-inch screen. No further details have been divulged regarding the phone's specs on the website.

The original Galaxy Grand Prime sported a 5-inch screen coupled with 540 x 960 pixels display resolution. The device was powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of memory. The smartphone packed a removable 2,600 mAh battery. As far as camera was concerned, it came with an 8MP/5MP combo, GSM Arena reported.

The smartphone packed an internal storage capacity of 8 GB, which could be further expanded up to 64 GB via a microSD card.

In addition, the original Galaxy Grand Prime featured an ultra power saving mode, which boosted battery life by closing down unnecessary apps. With this mode, users could receive calls and texts up to 24 hour with just 10 percent charge.

Taking into consideration that the upcoming Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) will be a successor to such an efficient device, the looming smartphone is likely to boast comparatively better hardware specs. It won't be surprising if it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

While T-Mobile is selling the original Galaxy Grand Prime for $199.99 on prepaid, the smartphone is up for grabs at Best Buy for $111.99. Since the Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) is expected to be a mid-range phone, it is likely to launch with a price tag between $150 and $200.

The South Korean tech firm has remained mum regarding the release date for Galaxy Grand Prime (2016). However, if Samsung follows its release pattern, and bearing in mind that the original Galaxy Grand Prime was announced in September 2014, the purported smartphone could be released sometime in September this year.
