It's always exciting to predict who will win the Olympic 2016 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

Rio Olympic Badminton schedule for men's singles will start in a few days and the rants quickly build up speculations of athlete names that would bring home the three medals. Early predictions have been made by Sports Illustrated who speculated that China's Chen Long will get the gold medal for men's singles.

Many sports analysts think that Lin Dan won't make it since he has experienced knee injury but let's not forget about the prestigious event a few months ago in Birmingham. He managed to secure his position with his All-England title. Not to mention his epic performance in the German Open.

Currently, the 33-year-old athlete remains the best player and these facts should be able to remove the doubts. Lin Dan's greatest rival in Rio Olympic 2016 Badminton would be Lee Chong Wei. The Malaysian athlete is expected to meet Lin Dan in the final round.

Rio Olympic Badminton qualification speculations

For the record, it might not be that difficult for top seed Chong Wei to lead in Group A as he will face Soren Opti (ranks 284^th) from Surinam and Derek Wong (ranks 63^rd) from Singapore.

Lin Dan will possibly top the group E but might need to struggle a bit when playing against Dane Jan O Jorgensen in the quarter finals. Malaysia's Chen Long will likely to move easily in the preliminary round in Group P but is predicted to meet his rival, Viktor Axelsen from Denmark in semi finals.

There will be 38 athletes competing in men's and women's singles; 16 pairs in men's, women's and mixed doubles as reported by BWF Badminton. The first match will start on August 11 with four days for preliminary matches. For the men's single finals, it will take place in August 20.
