Avid "RDR" fans have been waiting with bated breath for the next installment of Rockstar Games' hit western action-adventure game; however the studio has remained mum regarding the release of the much-awaited title.

Rockstar Games is not likely to spill the beans about the official release date of its impending games such as "Red Dead Redemption 2." This is to jazz up an element of surprise with the games' release, just like "GTA 5's" launch, TheBitBag reported.

This clearly indicates that fans will not see signs, hints or teasers of "Red Dead Redemption 2" in the upcoming international gaming conventions such as Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) and the Tokyo Games Show (TGS) in September, and even the Gamescom in August. This further cements the fact that Rockstar Games plans to maintain the secrecy of every title it is slated to release.

Contrary to earlier reports, recently surfaced rumors suggest that "RDR 2" could make an appearance at Gamescom event after all.

These speculations stem from Take-Two Interactive confirming its attendance; however the participation does not warrant the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2" specifically. The game publisher could also be participating in the upcoming event to launch another game. This also seems quite likely as Take-Two is a busy studio, and "RDR" is not its only franchise, TechTimes reported.

Rumors doing rounds online also hint that the highly-anticipated game will not be dubbed, "Red Dead Redemption 2," as the games before it are named "Red Dead Redemption" and "Red Dead Revolver."

Rumors are rife among ardent "RDR" fans that the upcoming game will be titled, "Red Dead Rebellion."

As far as the setting of the purported game is concerned, several reports hint a new landscape, possibly an expansion from the previous game's map. Moreover, it will have some sort of connection with the Blackwater settlement therefore there will be a bayou swamp region.

The aforesaid Blackwater settlement that's likely to be featured could be set in a different era, probably before the "Red Dead Redemption" years, which is set in 1911. Either the game may debut new faces or a younger John Marston may make an appearance as the main character.

More details are expected to surface when Rockstar Games releases "Red Dead Redemption 2."
