The new Dell XPS Tower systems are now available. The family of systems introduced includes the base XPS Tower and the XPS Tower VR.

At the end of July, Dell introduced the all-new XPS Tower systems which includes the base Tower which can be bought for $699 and the XPS Tower VR which is priced $1,199. The XPS Tower Special Edition will be released to the market on 15 October for a starting price of $1,299. The XPS base Tower and the XPS Tower VR is already available in the market since August 4, according to Dell's blog post.

Both the XPS Tower VR and the XPS Special Edition are virtual reality-ready which is compatible with Oculus rift as well as the HTC Vive Optimized certification programs. The base XPS Tower, on the other hand is aimed to students that need a lot of power for system-intensive applications, Digitaltrends reported.

According to the author of Dell's blog post, Frank Azor, said that the inspiration came from the Alienware Aurora. The Aurora has a clever engineering, a unique power supply (PSU), and tool design.

The specs says that users can choose to install either the latest GTX 1080, the newer GTX 1070, the GeForce GTX 745, the GTX 750, the GTX 960, or GTX 970. AMD GPU is not available for the Dell XPS. The Dell desktop also comes with a laser mouse, a Dell KB216 keyboard and the 64-bit Windows 10.

The XPS Tower VR version that is priced $1,800 will come with an Intel Core i7-6700K processor, 16GB of DDR4 system memory clocked at 2,133MHz, the GeForce GTX 970 graphics card. It also comes with a 2TB hard drive and a 32 GB SSD. The unit also sports a Bluetooth 4.2 and Wireless AC connectivity.

One feature that makes the unit better is its silence. The XPS Tower virtually produces no sound. It has thermally controlled fans that only spins the exact amount needed.
