NBC has asked a well-known face, Jimmy Fallon, to host the Golden Globes on January 2017.

NBC is looking of a host in the upcoming Golden Globe Awards and the bet that they have picked is with Jimmy Fallon who will be having his first award show since the 2010 Emmy Awards. The NBC network, which also broadcasts Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show", announced that the TV host will be taking the reins of the 74^th Annual Golden Globe Awards on January 8, 2017, CNN reported.

Jimmy Fallon hosted the 2010 Emmy Emmy Awards and the MTV Movie Awards in 2005. Fallon also hosts his own late-night talk show, "The Tonight Show.

Fallon's playful, disarming comedic brilliance is what makes him the most ideal host for the Golden Globe Awards which is the most uninhibited and spontaneous award show in the face of television. Jimmy Fallon would elevate the sense of fun as well as enhance the irreverence that made the Golden Globes one of the premier events of the entire broadcast year, according to Robert Greenblatt, the Chairman of NBC Entertainment.

The 2016 Golden Globes was hosted by Ricky Gervais and it attracted 18.5 million viewers which is lower than previous year's ratings of Golden Globes which is hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The previous year's Globes has about 19.3 million viewers. Fey and Poehler has been hosting the Globes for three years prior.

The president of Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Lorenzo Soria, was happy and excited that Jimmy Fallon would host the 2017 Golden Globes. Soria said that Fallon is exceptionally talented and that he is a dynamic entertainer. Furthermore, Soria added that Jimmy's charm and incredible spontaneity will play well to those present in the show as well as the millions of people watching from their homes around the world, according to E!Online.
