Apple just released a new inspiring ad for Rio Olympics 2016. The video entitled the 'Human Family' shows portraits of various people with different skin colors from around the world taken with iPhone only.

Apple's Shot on iPhone commercial

The #ShotOniPhone commercial, aired for the first time in Rio Olympic 2016 Opening Ceremony as part of the flagship campaign. The one-minute film consists of submitted contents, of images and clips that shot by iPhone users around the world, Washington Post wrote. This video takes viewers to a glimpse of the world from the sceneries to the people's activities. Not to mention, the melancholic music that beautifies the film.

Maya Angelou's voice featured in 'Shot on iPhone' Olympic ad

The late Maya Angelou is featured in the commercial as the voiceover. She read her famous poem the 'Human Family' over the slideshows of the people from different parts of the world. Apple official website also puts the Human Family poster in the homepage.

This Apple's ad focuses on equality and it's been aired on televisions and placed on billboards, too. Aside from the diversity that the tech giant tries to show, the commercial definitely sends the message that Apple wants to deliver - the iPhone's impressive ability to shoot hi-res images and videos without any other software.

And Apple's decision to pick Maya Angelou's poem to be read, is definitely a good move given its timely release at the Olympic 2016 opening ceremony - where the world celebrate 'the differences' together.

It's a simple video but creatively made and beautifully shot.

Maya Angelou is an American author, well-known for her beautiful words about women, freedom and equality. The late Angelou received National Medal of Arts in 2000. Her other poem was also featured in Think Different - one of Apple's TV ads debuted in 1997.
