One device listed on an online store over the weekend was mistakenly priced for £1.58. The online business firm that posted the listed device would not honor the sales made but instead apologized for the mistake.

A laptop, a HP ZBook 17 G2 Mobile Station, was listed at an online store in UK for only £1.58. The previous price of the laptop was £2,378 but the store listed the price as 'reduced'. The firm went offline briefly in order to fix the said error on Saturday, BBC reported.

Also, a lot of people have taken the opportunity and purchased the device. Some even posted on social media about the sales. However, the firm said that they would not honor the purchase that has been made.

The listing firm released a statement saying that they sincerely apologize to the impacted customers for the inconvenience that they have caused for the falsely advertised sales.

Retailers can cancel any online order if the company who posted the listing if ever a genuine and honest mistake was made on the part of the company, which the consumers should have noticed, was made. If the company tell a consumer that the [rice was a mistake upon bringing the item to the till, the consumer has no right to buy the falsely advertised item for a lower price, however, the consumer can still try asking the company selling the product to honor the given price tag, according to an article posted by Citizens Advice.

HP, the owner of the laptop product, has already said that the buyers who made a purchase would be refunded accordingly. The company have confirmed that it was due to some processing errors and there are select items which are wrongly priced on the UK website over the weekend. The mistake is reportedly being corrected and the orders in relation to the product are being cancelled.
