This year's American Athletic Conference will make some changes. It will trade its current platform in order to get ranked among major conferences. It plans to turn Power Five to a Power Six.

And this is just the beginning. In the future, the AAC wants to make a clear delineation between the Group of Five and the Power of Five. The AAC has the capability to build its national bona fides. It just needs to push further. According to USA Today, the AAC has an obstacle to overcome. The Big 12 Conference's recent announcement obstructs their plan to step up, seeing as Houston stands as the league's most likely addition.

But that is alright because for now, the Cougars carry the AAC Flag. But in 2016, Houston may take the lead in the conference as a national contender.

There are newcomers gaining traction in the league. Ed Oliver is described to be a dominant force this early. Na'Ty Rodgers shows a right tackle. Duke Catalon claims to be an offensive attacker. Sean Williams is a crucial point on Navy's defense. Jamil Kamara's Cincinnati moves contributes to the receiving end. E.J Levenberry's no slouch, either with 60 tackles in just two seasons.

The games to watch out for the year are the following:

1. Houston vs. Oklahoma in September 3.

2. Memphis at Mississippi on October 1.

3. South Florida at Temple on October 21.

4. Cincinnati at Temple on October 29.

5. Louisville at Houston on November 17.

6. Houston at Memphis on November 25.

7. Navy vs. Army (in Baltimore) on December 10.

However, the team with the best chance at the Playoff is said to be with Houston. The team is described to have the talent, coaching and experience to reach New Year's Six bowl game. But it can be a challenge for the College Football Payoff outright.

Take a trip down memory lane and check out this video flashback, if you're a Houston or Temples fan.
