Google Play releases their newest feature, the Family Library that shares apps, TV shows and more across multiple accounts.

The release has been announced by Google today. This new feature for google play allows users to share their purchased TV shows, books, movies and apps to their family members or group of friends that works with a maximum of six accounts. Apple has released an identical feature for their iTunes app and contents from two years ago. Since google has finally done it, this is a great news for all android users.

After applying for the plan, the user of the main account can then select family members to grant access to the main account's purchases and starts the sharing. The members can also get granular control. This means that they can pay their purchases using their own credit cards if they like so that the main account won't see your purchases. The shared contents depends on the default sharing behavior settings. Which can be set by the users within the plan. They can toggle the on/off switch to either share or don't share the content. The Google Play Family Library feature is free to access. So, your wallet won't be bothered just to be able to get this feature.

It has been released to several countries and will be adding new countries in the lists of availability today. The rollout starts in the US and will be available In Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. This feature is somewhat relatable to Google's music streaming service for families that costs $14.99, lifehacker reported.

Since it has been mentioned that Apple also has this similar plan for quite some time now, this plan from Google is more upfront. The shared contents can be viewed on more kinds of devices. It is compatible with both Android and ChromeOS devices and can be accessible on online though Chrome browser. Even if there's no native Apple TV app since Google strictly made a case that purchasing the content should just be inside their stores, these purchased contents can still be viewed on devices that are running through iOS, The Verge reported.
