Century College graduates and other registered nurses now have the opportunity to earn a four-year nursing degree from Bemidji State University, beginning in the fall of 2013. This baccalaureate program will largely be taught online with only some on-campus classes slated to be conducted at the College.

Bemidji's Dean of Nursing Jeanine Gangeness said that students can either choose a three-term (fall, spring and summer) full time program, or enroll in a part-time five-term program. Overall, the students will be allocated three days per term at the Century nursing lab to practise their skills. The course also involves clinical experiences, which will be arrarnged at several locations, possibly near students' homes.

Students will attend Century College campus for three weeks during the semester and online classes will be held during alternate weeks. The program will be available to the first set of 40 students.

 "There continues to be a huge demand among Minnesota's nurses for programs like these," said Dr. Jeanine Gangeness, founding dean of the Bemidji School of Nursing. "This is part of our continuing effort to support the ability of nurses to come back to school and complete their education."

This alliance with Century is the third colocation agreement for the Bemidji School of Nursing. Its first colocation agreement was with Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Cambridge in the fall of 2009 and Lake Superior College in Duluth in the fall of 2011.
