Temple of the Dog announced its 2016 United States Tour in celebrating the 25th Anniversary of their self-titled album. This is the first time that the band will reunite for a tour.

The Temple of the Dog tour will commemorate the 25th anniversary edition of "Temple of the Dog" album. The "Temple of the Dog" album which will be released on Sept. 30, and will be available as a four-disc super deluxe version, a double LP, a two CD deluxe version and a single CD.

The "Temple of the Dog" album is newly mixed by Brendan O'Brien and comes after a long legal battle over the "Temple of the Dog" album's master recordings.

Temple of the Dog's Chris Cornell said that they wanted to do one thing they never got to do, and this is to play shows and see what it feels like to be the band they left 25 years ago, Consequence Of Sound reported.

Cornell also said that Temple of the Dog was about making an album simply for the joy of doing it and they were not concerned if anyone would listen to it. He added that the upcoming "Temple of the Dog" album is the first and maybe the only stress-free "Temple of the Dog" album they made; something that no one has ever heard of.

Meanwhile, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder is not listed among the members taking part in the "Temple of the Dog 2016" tour, though he is originally part of the band. Temple of the Dog fans will witness the lineup of Cornell, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron, with hopes that Vedder may show onstage at one or more of the shows, Zumic reported.
