In recall, there are movie team ups that are unpredictable in some other way. As the two stars in their own way are pairing up in one film. Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville leads the new buddy-cop movie as the trailer debuts today.

"Skiptrace" is a brand new action comedy film directed by Renny Harlin. Harlin was known for his works on "Die Hard 2" and "Cliffhanger". In this movie, he puts Jackie Chan into the lead role together with an American actor having that comedian aura. And this time around, Jackass star Johnny Knoxville stars alongside Jackie Chan. Seeing them on the trailer makes you think of an odder pair.

Going back in the late 90s to early 00s, Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan is making some noise in the US. His stunts caught the eyes of the Hollywood and action fans. By this, majority of his movie was given a big break and had been released in theaters nationwide. Most of it were in English dubbed version. In a short while, Chan was given numerous of Hollywood projects wherein he stars all of them, films like "Rush Hour" with Chris Tucker, other one is with Owen Wilson in "Shanghai Noon" and even having his own starring vehicle in The Tuxedo. Now, he's back on the spotlight with this new movie that has a feel of an early to mid-00s, Slashfilm reported.

The trailer highlights their two lead characters. First off is Chan plays a role of a Hong Kong's top detective, while Knoxville is an American most wanted fugitive who teams up with him of some reasons. They are co-stared with "X-Men: Days of the Future Past" star Bingbing Fan and ex-WWE performer Eve Torres, Indie Wire reported.

However, it was previously rumored that American Pie franchise star Seann William Scott who was panned to star beside Jackie Chan, which would bring more authenticity to the movie at some point. But perhaps, Renny Harlin is really trying to throw back a genre where few are made in the same manner though its effectiveness are still questionable.

"Skiptrace" will be available on DirecTV starting July 28 and will be out in theaters on September 2.
