Daveed Diggs is heading to the silver screen as he will be joining Julia Roberts on a new film adaptation following announcement that he will no longer be part of the "Hamilton" play; delivering his final act on July 15, Friday. The "Hamilton" star lined-up his first role in the upcoming movie, "Wonder."

Diggs, a Tony award winner for his work on Broadway's "Hamilton," will be making a transition into movies, joining the cast of Lionsgate's adaptation of the R.J. Palacio novel, "Wonder." Daveed who is now 34, became prominent in the hit Broadway play, Hamilton, originating the roles of Thomas Jefferson and the Marquis de Lafayette.

"Hamilton" star Diggs will be casting opposite Roberts, "Room Breakout" Jacob Tremblay and Owen Wilson, Entertainment reported. The script was written by Jack Thorne and Steve Conrad.

The "Wonder" film will center on a storyline that follows a 10-year-old Auggie Pullman (Tremblay), a boy born with a facial deformity who was homeschooled for year and will now be enrolling in a private prep school in the fifth grade.

Roberts and Wilson will be playing as parents of the boy while Diggs is expected to be playing the boy's English teacher, Mr. Browne. The character of Mr. Browne's approach to literature is to teach what it means to be human.

Meanwhile, following his farewell from "Hamilton" announcement and further his career, Daveed joined HBO's upcoming sports mockumentary, "Tour De Pharmacy," Xpose reported. The mockumentary was written by Murray Miller, and will co star with Andy Samberg, in the role of Canadian cyclist Young Slim Klingston. In another report, Daveed will also get an arc on the next season of ABC's "Black-ish."

Diggs new movie "Wonder" will be directed by Stephen Chbosky who also directed the movie, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." "Wonder" is set for an April 7, 2017 release date.
