A young student at the Belmont University School of Music will perform in Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical about the life of American Founding Father - "Hamilton."

Chris Lee, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Theatre, has been cast in the Chicago production of the wildly successful Broadway musical of Miranda, according to Tennessean.

"Hamilton," debuted in 2015, is a musical about the Founding Father and the first Secretary of the Treasury - Alexander Hamilton. Last month, Miranda's show dominated Tony Awards and took home the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The soundtrack of the show topped Billboard's Rap Albums Chart, a winner of a Grammy Award and has been certified platinum.

The 21 year old Lee will play the Marquis de Lafayette in the first act of the musical and in the second act, Lee will portray Thomas Jefferson. Lee will star alongside with Karen Olivo (portraying Angelica Schuyler) and Miguel Cervantes, who will play Hamilton.

Lee wrote via email and stated that he is nothing but excited to tackle the role. Lee also wrote that he is fully confident that he will do his best in bringing a new iconic character to life in a new fashion, with hopes that everyone can appreciate.

However, "Hamilton" is losing two principal actors. Daveed Diggs, who portrays Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson, along with Renée Elise Goldsberry, who plays Angelica Schuyler, are both leaving the well known Broadway musical, based on the report of AP.

Diggs and Goldsberry won Tonys for their roles in "Hamilton" musical. Diggs is said to be leaving on July 15, while Goldsberry is slated to depart in the fall, Rolling Stone reported.

Other principals in the cast of "Hamilton" include Ari Afsar (former "American Idol"), Joseph Morales, Jose Ramos, Wallace Smith and Samantha Marie Ware, according to Chicago Tribune.

The Chicago production of "Hamilton" is slated at the PrivateBank Theatre on September 27.
