"Pokemon Go," which hit the market last week, has lured Ames community with its new and addictive virtual reality gameplay. "Pokemon Go" app has not just attracted college students at Iowa State University, but also influenced many elementary children and adults too.

The "Pokemon Go" players can be seen everywhere, sucked into their smartphones as if they have made their own realms while searching for "Pokemons." They constantly check their phones to see if there is a nearby "Pokemon" they can catch.

The "Pokemon Go" fan Cilian Grover, who is a student at Sawyer Elementary, is one of the many players who are focusing their search at Lake Laverne. He noticed an issue that has frustrated a lot of "Pokemon Go" players, involving server problems. He said that since there are so many people playing, the server overloads a lot.

Recently, the "Pokemon Go" app experiences server crashes. Since its initial launch, the servers have been down a lot of times, due to the number of people playing inside the servers. There are those who are even locked inside the server and were not able to move on from that, Desmoines Register reported. "Pokemon Go" players have got no choice, but restart the game and lose the "Pokemons" that they were about to catch.

Another "Pokemon Go" fan is an incoming junior at Iowa State University Olivia Munid. She said that she thinks it is cool that they stepped up the game to the real world now. However, Munid said that the experience would be a lot better if she will be carrying a phone case with an extra charger, since "Pokemon Go" is a fast battery killer, News About reported.

"Pokemon Go" is definitely not the first virtual reality game to be released, but it is the most accessible app for users at this time. The gameplay just requires a player to hold the phone up and catch a nearby "Pokemon" with the use of "PokeBall." The game can be played anywhere, from the backyard, across the street, bars, restaurants, or even at home.
