Rumor mills churned a slew of speculations last week hinting that a couple of Google Android Wear smartwatches are in the works, and now leaked images of the two wearables have surfaced online, further cementing these sneaking suspicions.

It was earlier reported that the two smartwatches that are slated to hit the shelves right after the Nexus devices in fall this year, have been codenamed "Angelfish" and "Swordfish."

There is no confirmation that the final product that hits the market may look anything like the smartwatches shown in the leaked images, Android Police, the tech publication behind the leaked images, warns that the smartwatches have been recreated in a bid to keep the source undercover.

"Angelfish," is rumored to be the high-end of the two purported smartwatches, and it will not only be larger but also thicker than the "Swordfish" variant. The frame encompasses a noticeable crown button on the left, coupled with a small shoulder button on top as well as bottom.

As far as the display is concerned, it sports the customisable watchface of Android Wear 2.0, which was auditioned during Google I/O 2016.

Moreover, it looks like "Angelfish" will not be compatible with Android Wear Mode watch bands, which simply indicates there will be no removable straps. The smartwatch will boast cellular connectivity - supports LTE and GPS - in a bid to have the ability to operate independently without having to pair it with a smartphone, NDTV Gadgets reported.

The comparatively smaller smartwatch codenamed, "Swordfish" sports a single button bulging to the left. Google has reportedly incorporated a thick bezel between the display and ring in a bid to take care of the flat-tyre design issue, making the display screen significantly smaller.

Just before the display begins, there is a noticeable black gap, which effectively eliminates Motorola's flat tyre design, however makes the display much smaller.

Although "Swordfish" is rumored to not support GPS and LTE and even do away with the heart rate monitor, the purported smartwatch will be compatible with Android Wear Mode watch bands.

No details are currently available regarding branding of these smartwatches. While a slew of rumors doing rounds hint they'd be dubbed either as Nexus, Pixel or simply Google, the search engine giant has remained mum and has neither confirmed nor denied these speculations.

Exact availability of the smartwatches, the pricing as well as technical spec details are still under wraps. Until Google officially confirms the aforementioned speculations, it is recommended to take these rumors with a grain of salt.
