The real-life New Jersey pizzeria Freddie's has been bombarded by a series of numerous phone calls.

The phone of N.J. pizzeria has been busy not only for receiving delivery calls from its customers, but because of a series of callers (probably gamers) who keep on asking if the restaurant has something with the popular online video game, "Five Nights at Freddy's."

The survival horror video game created by Scott Cawthon, was first released in 2014. and it gained commercial success from the online gamers. Due to its popularity, Freddie's restaurant, has been beset by unserious phone calls inquiring about Five Nights at Freddy's, and the callers come at all hours, from coast to coast, according to The Asbury Park (N.J.) Press .

Oscar Hernandez, the manager of real-life Freddie's, said one number is responsible for hundreds of calls is the area code is nowhere close to New Jersey. Changing the business's name or phone number could be the answer, however, there will be cons coming.

Hernandez's representative said,"Think about how much business would be lost." Once the restaurant changes its number, people would think that the business has stopped its operation or closed, the representative explained.

Hernandez said the series of phone calls, which are not related to their service, hurt his business. One of the waitresses in the restaurant said, they received about 200 calls in an hour. The series of phone calls affects their daily job, and they find it annoying.

Freddie's was founded in 1944 by Fred Scialla, and it remains as a family-owned business. The restaurant offers dine-in, take-out, and delivery. Now, the restaurant added new telephone lines in order to compensate for the huge influx of calls. Gamespot reported.

Meanwhile, the creator of  "Five Nights at Freddy's," Scott Cawthon, released a statement regarding the series of phone calls that the N.J. restaurant has been experiencing.

"Please do not call any phone numbers that you think may be associated with the game," he said. Cawthon added there are no phone numbers associated with the game and he clarified that all locations in the game are fictional.
